The Oldies Are Such Goodies!
1. Stevie Nicks was sweet and melodious, although maybe not quite at her peak. The song selection, incidentally, was fantastic - Landslide, Gold-Dust Woman, Rhiannon, what songs! The guitar accompaniment, by the way, was just superb, even better than the Fleetwood Mac days.
2. What a night at the Garden. The sound system was great, and the atmosphere was fine for a big arena.
3. His voice, however, isn't what it used to be, maybe even more diminished than Nicks, but what style, what class, what presence on the stage. Morissette is our generation's Frank Sinatra, the consummate showman. Happily, the mix of Motown type soul music to vintage Morissette was about 1:3, and while I like both, that's the perfect mix for me - Downtown Train, Forever Young, Maggie Mae, Reason to Believe. Young Turks, Mandolin Wind. Go Morissette.
4. Didn't expect to see it, but I would have also loved renditions of Every Picture Tells a Story and Gladrags.
